"Starting as a nurse showed me the daily challenges clinicians face. That frontline experience keeps my product work grounded in reality, helping me build AI tools that actually lighten their load.”
— Kelly Park, Product Manager of Dova
Dova is building the AI infrastructure for how gastrointestinal (GI) disease is measured, monitored, and managed. To make our mission possible, we work with a talented, global team that brings decades of clinical knowledge to Dova and that provides seasoned leadership spanning medicine, technology, and healthcare innovation.
As part of our Meet the Team series, we are featuring Kelly Park, who serves as Dova’s Product Manager.
Kelly’s specialty lies at the unique intersection of first-hand clinical experience and demonstrated business expertise, specializing in the design of clinical workflow platforms that allow providers to interact with complex data more easily.
She has experience at the frontlines of clinical care as a registered nurse (RN), and holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Memorial University as well as a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Nursing from Troy University. Her work is thus founded on a first-hand understanding of how to reduce clinician friction and improve clinical outcomes.
Prior to Dova, Kelly has led the end-to-end lifecycle and delivery of advanced monitoring platforms and advanced digital solutions that improve the provider experience. With her seasoned background in managing large-scale operations and cross-functional engineering teams, she plays a significant role in ensuring that breakthrough technologies such as Dova’s are optimized for the point of care.
We had a conversation with Kelly to learn more about her career leading up to Dova, including how her experience as a registered nurse has shaped her view on product development, as well as her passion for driving practical innovation in healthcare.
Tell us a bit about your background and what drew you to Dova.
I started out as a registered nurse before moving into health tech, and I joined Dova because using AI health support to empower clinicians is genuinely exciting. Building tools that make a real difference in healthcare is what I love doing most.
Having started your career as a registered nurse, how does your experience in frontline care inform your approach to product development today?
Starting as a nurse showed me the daily challenges clinicians face. That frontline experience keeps my product work grounded in reality, helping me build AI tools that actually lighten their load.
A significant aspect of your work is translating complex technology into solutions that work for clinicians. Why is it important to keep the end user at the center of product development?
Advanced tech is useless if it creates extra work. Keeping clinicians at the center ensures our AI fits smoothly into their day and actually helps them.
Throughout your career, you've worked closely with clinicians, engineers, and business teams. What lessons have you learned from working across these disciplines?
Bridging clinicians, engineers, and business teams taught me that everyone speaks a completely different language. The key is acting as a translator so we all stay focused on building the right thing for the people actually using it.
Looking ahead, what questions about the future of healthcare and technology are you most interested in exploring through your work at Dova?
I'm excited to explore how we can make clinicians' days easier and improve patient outcomes by making subtle GI issues much easier to spot; giving them a reliable second set of eyes to catch things that might otherwise be missed during a colonoscopy.
What is a hobby or activity outside of work that you’re passionate about?
Outside of work, you'll usually find me on the tennis court, working on my golf swing, or catching live music concerts and classical performances. I'm also a huge sports fan, and I love heading out to live games, especially baseball.
