SOFTWARE ENGINEER
Albert is a software engineer at Dova Health. He is working on designing, training, and fine-tuning deep learning models for the analysis of medical imaging and video data. He is also working on performance optimization, data pipeline engineering, as well as assisting in provisioning infrastructure and containerizing ML workflows to ensure seamless deployment.
He has recently completed his Master's degree in Computer Science at the University of Waterloo and was previously a Computer Vision / AI Researcher at the University of Waterloo where his research mainly focused on finding new ways of generating pseudo ground truths from features produced by a DINO-trained vision transformer (ViT) for the task of unsupervised saliency detection.
Before joining Dova, he worked as a Data Scientist at the National Research Council of Canada (NRC) where his primary job was to explore the viability of using real-time object detection in the Collision Assessment and Avoidance pipeline of LEO satellites. He also has worked as a software engineer for Randox, the largest biotechnology company for health diagnostics in the UK, in a multidisciplinary team on Evidence Evolution, an embedded software system of an immunoanalyzer.
